Happy Monday Family,
Let me begin by thanking those of you who were able to be a part of our Sabbath worship this past week, as we took time not only to honor our God, but our mothers as well. Kudos to our worship and media teams who made this past Sabbath’s service a memorable one indeed. Also, thanks to all the moms and those who stand in the gap, as you continue to provide for us, in big and small ways, a glimpse into the very heart of God.
And speaking of Sabbath, I was thinking that one of the outcomes that I hope becomes a reality for our church when we are able to finally worship in person again, is a greater sense of the importance of being in church on time. I say this because it’s not enough for us “not to forsake the assembling of ourselves” as we are admonished in Hebrews 4:25, but we need to stress this along with that of being on time. And what better time to develop this discipline than in the midst of this current pandemic, when we are not presented with many of the challenges that impede us from arriving to church on time. It has become even clearer during this COVID-19 crisis that the worship service is more than just the music or the message; it is every segment of the worship that has been formed together to create a tapestry of praise. So let’s commit to being there, virtually that is, this Sabbath at 10:55 a.m. in order that we might experience the fullness of our worship to God.
As many of you continue to witness, our Sligo community is still discovering new and creative ways that allow us to remain connected during this crisis. Please take a moment and review the opportunities of how we can continue to do life together:
Holy Communion – On Sabbath, May 30, the Sligo family will be able to take part in one of the most meaningful aspects of our Sligo experience, and that is the Holy Communion. Despite the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the gathering of the members of our family to be put on hold, except virtually, we will through the use of technology, come together to partake of this holy meal and yes, join our voices as we sing, “When We All Get to Heaven.” You don’t want to miss this! Stay tuned for more about this special service.
Homes of Hope – Is your world suddenly smaller? Is God calling you to share His love? Many are now seeking to connect with God. Starting a Bible Study group with the people in your world can be your at-home mission outreach. Click the link to find out more <Homes of Hope>

Giving – Thank you for your continued faithfulness during this time of unparalleled crisis. While many of you are continuing to return your tithes and offerings online, others are either mailing their contributions to the church or bringing them directly to the church office. We are grateful for your financial support, without which we would not be able to support our various ministries.<adventistgiving>
